Eight new off shore wind farms came into operation in 2009
In Europe, offshore wind farm increased by 54% (From: yourrenewablenews.com)
According to the EWEA - 577 MW added off shore wind power capacity in 2009, which is 54% more than the 377MW added in 2008. This year a further 10 wind farms are due for completion adding an expected 1000 MW.
